Agents without a key are told what to send and how to get one

A demo price request with no current price now opens with the field to add and a body that works, and every MCP tool that needs a key says how to get one in a single call.

The API reference for the public demo price endpoint, whose refusal now leads with the missing field.

Agents that tried Last Price without a key kept stopping at the first error. Two answers now say what to do next.

  • The demo price. A request with no context.current_price, or zero, used to open with how the pricing function works and end by asking for an API key. It now opens with the fix: add context.current_price, a number above zero, with an example body that prices. The answer also carries code: missing_current_price, missing_inputs, a hint and that example as fields, so an agent can act on it without reading the sentence.
  • Setup no longer looks broken. Listing resources or prompts, which many agents do while connecting, answered "method not found". It now answers an empty list: the server offers tools only.
  • Tools that need a key. Over MCP, a tool that works on your own workspace used to answer "Set LASTPRICE_API_KEY", which means nothing to an agent calling over HTTP. It now says to send an x-api-key header, and that POST /api/agents/register with a name returns a key for a sandbox workspace with no human needed.
