Keep UCP checkout sessions and retry their creation safely

Checkout sessions include an expiry and support idempotent creation with catalog-based pricing for eligible lines.

A session includes expires_at and is retained for its supported lifetime, 24 hours by default.

  • Retry creation with the same idempotency key and body to retrieve the existing session. A changed body conflicts; an in-progress creation includes retry guidance.
  • Lines without a supplied price can be priced from a matching catalog item. Unknown prices leave the session incomplete.
  • Expired sessions cannot be updated as active checkouts.

Session creation and management do not complete a purchase. Payment completion remains unavailable until a payment provider is implemented.
