Billing records validate amounts and relationships
Invoices, payment records, partial refund records and disputes are checked against their customer, currency and related amounts.
Billing updates validate the records they affect.
- Invoices and payments must reference customers in the workspace and use supported currency precision.
- Sent invoices preserve their amount; payment records determine whether an invoice is covered.
- Partial refund records track the refunded and remaining amount and can make an invoice outstanding again.
- Dispute records are bounded by their referenced payment.
These are billing-record operations. Recording a payment or refund does not itself move money through a payment provider.
