The Last Tick, a wall of 24 prices that never settle (preview)
A preview page where 24 panels each recompute one simulated price every few seconds, every panel with a different pricing function. It is not open to everyone yet.
The Last Tick is the web version of a gallery piece: a wall of e-ink style panels, each quietly recomputing a single price. It shows, side by side, how differently pricing functions behave on the same clock.
- 24 goods, from a loaf of bread and a kilowatt-hour to an API call and a vintage chair, each priced by its own function: cost-plus, the profit optimum, a competitor undercut with a floor, metered cost, an A/B split, Thompson sampling, a second-price auction and more
- Every market is simulated, and several are the scenarios Last Price uses to test its own pricing; no customer data is read
- Every visitor sees the same wall at the same moment. Panels keep their own rhythms, and every couple of minutes the whole wall refreshes at once, then drifts apart again
- Tap a panel to see its function and what it read on this tick, or pause the wall to read it slowly
- It works on a phone and respects reduced motion settings
