Price quotes a buyer can verify

A price response carries a signed quote, so a buyer can check the price came from Last Price and was not changed, without trusting whoever passed it on.

A price response now carries signed_quote: a signed statement of the price, currency, pricing function, receipt and expiry.

  • Pass it to a buyer, for example inside an HTTP 402 payment requirement.
  • The buyer checks it was issued by Last Price and not changed, against the keys at /.well-known/quote-keys.json or with POST /api/quotes/verify, which needs no key.
  • Buyer agents can also verify it over MCP with verify_signed_quote.
  • Nothing else in the price response changes.
