Narrow MCP servers for one job each

Besides the full MCP server, Last Price can now serve five narrow ones: a price check, a quote verifier, an x402 price index, a negotiator and an agent-ready check. Each does one job with a few tools and has its own registry name, so an agent looking for that job finds it.

The Capability Servers section of the documentation in dark mode, listing the five servers with their registry names and tools.

The full MCP server lists every tool Last Price has. An agent that only needs to check a price, or verify a quote, has to read the whole list to find the tool it wants, and a directory search for "verify a quote" is less likely to land on a server named for everything.

  • Five servers, one job each: ai.last-price/price-check, quote-verifier, x402-price-index, negotiator and agent-ready-check, each at https://api.last-price.ai/api/mcp/<name>.
  • The same tools: each one runs the full server's own tools, with the same arguments, answers and key rules. A tool from another server is refused with a pointer to the full server.
  • Different servers, not copies: no tool is in two of them, so none is the same server under another name.
  • Listed where agents look: each has its own registry manifest, and /.well-known/mcp.json lists them under capability_servers.
  • The full server is unchanged: /api/mcp/rpc still has every tool.
