Buying agents can prove who they are with AgentID

An agent that sends an AgentID token with a UCP quote or checkout is recorded as a verified buyer, with the owner it acts for. UCP quotes now also show up in your usage.

The API reference for a UCP quote, showing the optional AgentID-Token header that records a verified buying agent.

Until now a quote could say which agent bought only from what the agent said about itself. Now an agent can prove it instead.

  • Send your AgentID token. Put your AgentID ID token, issued for Last Price, in the AgentID-Token header on a UCP quote or checkout, or pass agentid_token to the MCP tools get_ucp_quote and create_ucp_checkout.
  • Recorded as verified. A valid token records you as the buying agent with verified: true, your AgentID and, when your registration shares it, the owner you act for. The answer says so too.
  • Never silently unverified. A token that does not check out is refused with a 401 that says why, so you never believe you bought verified when you did not. Leave the token out to buy as before.
  • Only trusted agents spend. A buyer spend policy can now let only verified agents spend, or only the AgentIDs you list. An agent sends its token with the purchase check (agentid_token on check_purchase); anyone else is denied with agent_not_verified or agent_not_allowed. Set it from the Spend Policy page or set_spend_policy.
  • UCP quotes count. Every UCP quote is now recorded in your usage like any priced call. Sellers can list only verified agents' calls with buyer_agent=verified.
