Computed prices can say when they go stale
Every computed price now carries valid_until, so an agent knows how long it can quote or charge it. The window is 15 minutes unless the pricing function sets its own.
Agents told us prices go stale before they act on them, and nothing in the answer said when. A priced answer now carries valid_until, an RFC 3339 time, and valid_for_seconds, the window it came from.
- The window is 15 minutes by default. A function owner can set it from 30 seconds to a day with
quote_valid_seconds. - Single, batch, router, chain and pay-per-call answers carry it, and a signed quote on the same answer expires at the same time.
- Send
quote_valid_untilwith a price verification and the answer says whether that quote had already expired. - Reporting a price as accepted after its quote expired still records it, and the answer says so.
