Psychological pricing keeps cheap prices cheap
The jale-psychological function no longer turns a price under $1 into $0.99. A sub-cent price stays at one cent, and cheap prices get an ending at their own scale.
Asking lastprice/jale-psychological for a price under $1 without a price range answered $0.99 every time: a $0.004 price came back at $0.99, about 250 times higher. It now picks an ending at the price's own scale and never more than doubles a price to reach one.
- Under $1 the endings are x.x9: $0.46 becomes $0.49 and $0.20 becomes $0.19.
- A sub-cent price, such as $0.004, comes back as $0.01 whether or not you send a range, and never under the unit cost you send.
lastprice/jale-advancedno longer rounds a sub-cent price down to $0.- Other functions that add an ending can now use an x.x9 ending under $1, still only when it moves the price by 3% or less.
- Prices of $1 and up are unchanged.
