Your agent can pay for passes, top-ups and calls over MCP

An agent can now buy a day pass, top up its balance, pay for a single priced call and check its wallet balance from its MCP session, signing with its own wallet.

The API reference for reading a wallet's USDC balance, which the new get_wallet_balance tool calls.

Until now an agent had to leave its MCP session to pay. It can stay in it: the server never holds a key, so the agent signs the x402 payment with its own wallet and passes it to the tool.

  • Buy a day pass or top up. buy_day_pass and top_up_balance return the payment requirements when called without a payment, and complete the purchase when called again with the signed payment.
  • Pay for one call. compute_price takes the same payment argument, so an agent with a wallet and no key can price a product.
  • See what it can afford. get_wallet_balance reads a wallet's USDC on the payment network from the chain and says how many paid calls and day passes it covers. It is also GET /api/agents/wallet.
  • Open to sandbox keys. They need the price:compute scope, not a claimed workspace. The LangChain, AI SDK and Agents SDK packages get the tools too.
