Agents can browse the public function catalog without a key

The public function catalog and the public marketplace listings can now be read with no API key, so an agent can see what the network offers before it signs up.

Browsing the public function catalog and the public marketplace listings no longer needs an API key. An agent without a key used to get a 401 just for looking; it now gets the same list a signed-in caller sees.

  • GET /api/functions/catalog lists the built-in functions and the functions listed publicly on the marketplace.
  • GET /api/marketplace/listings lists the public marketplace listings. Your own listings, with ?scope=owned, still need a key and answer 401 without one.
  • The browse_catalog tool on the MCP server works without a key too.
  • Both reads allow 60 calls a minute per address and answer 429 with Retry-After past that.
  • A key sent with either read is ignored, so a mistyped or expired key no longer turns a public read into a 401.
  • Private and unlisted functions never appear. Each entry shows only what a caller needs to choose a function (its name, description, schemas, cost and tags), never the owner's endpoint, workspace, credentials or payout details.
